About the WPSAmerica.com

Affiliate Company Member of the American Welding Society (AWS)

WPSAmerica.com site is part of the WeldCanada.com, Inc. incorporated in 2005

The main focus of WPSAmerica.com is providing simple and unique welding software solution in compliance with the AWS, ASME, and API codes, for the benefits of welding and manufacturing industry. Users can manage all their weld documents online (WPS, PQR, WPQ, WPQR, Welders Management Report), and gain added information about the American Welding Society (AWS) welding codes, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) welding codes, and with future consideration of The American Petroleum Institute (API) welding codes.

WPSAmerica.com welding and welder software currently supports a dozen of industry codes, the AWS Structural Steel Welding Codes (AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.5, AWS D1.6, AWS D9.1, AWS D17.1), and the ASME Boilers and Pressure Vessels, and Piping Codes (ASME Section I, ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3).

WPSAmerica.com members include certified fabricators with the AWS, ISO, AISC, API, IBC and ASME, plus independant companies, professionals, welding engineers, structural or mechanical engineers, welders, welding technicians, welding inspectors, welding supervisors, welding educators and students.

Founder's Remarks:

With 20 years of hands-on service in the industry, including 5 years assisting thousands of fabricators at the welding procedure department of the Canadian Welding Bureau, I experienced that welding engineers and welding supervisors have to modify their Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) more often, before final procedure approval. Companies were asked to perform costly weld tests that could have been avoided, if welding procedure specifications were submitted properly in the first place.

An unnecessary Procedure Qualification test Records (PQR), means a waste of material, labor and inspection costs, also waiting for welding procedure specification approval. Sometimes a company might lose a bid for a project that requires those approved welding document, right away.

The following are the most common reasons that welding procedure specifications were not getting approval or have been called up for costly qualification testing:

-WPS doesn't comply with the minimum requirements of applicable code

-Lack of knowledge on how to prepare and submit a WPS properly in the first place

-Not recommending a right shielding gas considering the base materials, thicknesses, weld process and mode of metal transfer (short circuit, spray, globular, pulse) for a WPS

-Welding parameters are too high or too low in WPS for that specific application

-Don't know how to take advantage of prequalified welding joints of each welding codes (AWS D1.1, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.6)

Regarding to the last item above, there are still some professionals who are not familiar with all aspects of a weld code; for example, many of the welding tests (PQR) for welding of austenitic stainless steels could be avoided, by using and referring of welding procedure specifications to prequalified welding joints of the AWS D1.6 code.

WPSAmerica.com superior welding software provides a unique and simple solution to prepare your weld documents (WPS, PQR, WPQR, WPQ, and Welders Management Report), for any welding process or material in a few minutes; plus we created over 10,000 prequalified Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS's) that are fully code-checked with the AWS welding codes, literally.

What makes the WPSAmerica.com unique and superior welding software?

-You are only required to have minimal computer knowledge to use this service.

-No need to download the software on your computer, log in and manage your weld document.

-WPSAmerica.com online software supports more codes than any software company.

-Huge saving when using from over 10,000 AWS prequalified procedures, by take advantage of codes and avoid doing unnecessary costly tests. WPSAmerica.com's prequalified welding procedures ease the complexity of development of weld procedures for structural steel applications of mild steels, low alloy steels and stainless steels (Plate, Pipe, Sheet, Box), in accordance with the AWS D1.1, AWS D1.3 and AWS D1.6 welding codes.

-While other welding software doesn't automatically prepare a single welding procedure, WPSAmerica.com offers over 10,000 procedures for the AWS codes, as our special bonus to you, and a superior welding software for both the AWS and ASME codes.

-To make a better decision, there are instant code's rules for each essential variables, Guides and Built-in Tables in each forms (WPS, PQR, WPQ, WPQR). The software also provides guides to choose right shielding gases, suggested welding parameters, and educational experts' welding presentations.

-The welding software provides no restriction for the user, with no company license fee. The welding service is good for unlimited intra company use, available anywhere online to members.

-Superior welding software for the AWS structural steels welding codes (steels, stainless steels, aluminum, bridge, and more), as well as the ASME codes (pressure vessel, piping, boiler, power piping, process piping, and more).

-By joining WPSAmerica.com, you can also create your own Webpage, WPSAmerica.com/YOU, and start business networking, and collaborate with members in your welding community.

-Option to save your weld documents online (WPS, PQR, WPQ, WPQR and Welder Management Report), plus you can always save it on your computer in PDF format.

-The software and database designed by the code experts, and are continuously updated with latest edition of the welding codes.

-Members also have access to free online resources, plus Highlights of Codes, Learn First!, You Asked We Answered WebPages, samples Specifications with welding techniques for major welding processes, and Experts' Presentations.

-WPSAmerica.com is committed to provide members with the continued value-added services.

-The service fee is very affordable.
